Ground Rules for Shipping
- Upon arrival at our loft, your sails will be measured for square footage and inspected for any repairs or adjustments needed, in addition to any repairs or modifications you request.
- We receive sails via UPS, FedEx, DHL, & USPS—all work well. Over 200 customers a year personally bring in their sails for processing or stop by for parts and accessories from our store.
- Be cautious using “Pack & Send” services, as extra costs may add up.
- Consider going easy on insurance; we have only had one sail lost in 23 years.
- We use FedEx to return your sails once finished.
- CLICK HERE for information on how to fold sails for shipping.
- CLICK HERE for our Sail Cleaning Form. Fill it out, print it, sign it, and send it in the box with your sails.
- Do not ship sails with battens in the pockets—they may break in transit and damage the sail.
- Avoid packing sails with “PEANUTS” as they are unnecessary, a mess in the loft, and costly to dispose of.
- Only send sail bags if you want them repaired or cleaned.
- Remove any hardware you can, except for slides or hanks.
- Lengths of line attached to the sail will be removed to prevent loss. Any line or bungee cords used for tying up the sail will be discarded.
- Insignias, numbers, and draft stripes stuck to the sail may need to be sewn down before processing if they risk dislodging. There is a charge for this.
- Initial inspection before processing may not reveal all issues with your sail.
- After processing, your sail will be inspected again. If additional issues are found, you will be notified before we proceed.
- Laminate sails, Mylar/Kevlar, cannot be processed. Some can be repaired or modified—please call before sending them.
- Send sails to: SailCare, 410 9th Street, Ford City, PA 16226
